You may travel everywhere and even live happy in a foreign Country, but sometimes it is good to go back home (even back to your parent’s home) and enjoy the best Mediterranean Cooking ever!!!!

love to stay here @Roggiano Gravina in Calabria. Italy!!!
Tonight it was time to praise myself with something warm.. Swiss Spätzli cooked with butter, ham and zucchini. Plus a spoon of piedmont wine (home production – my cousin).
And here it is
Yesterday evening I with my long lasting friends decided to have a dinner in our favourite Pub-Restaurant. it’s just behind my parents house, my own father used to go there as he was not yet married and I’ve been there countless times. I’ve also used it to part for my University graduation. Anyway it is still the best Pub in Milano and most likely the best for food quality and pricewise. The Gesa Vegia (old Church in Milano’s dialect) in Bovisa.
Its “bruschette” and sandwich types are countless, from “piccantissima”, to “gesa vegia”, “tartina”, “pancetta”…
It’s not also bad for meat and pasta. If you are in Milano, you have to try it….
Well homemade family production is always good… Sometime it is super! My cousin Settimio in Piedemont, he produces a dolcetto wine, just for our family consumption, which is better than any label I tried….
Yeah, my family in Calabria still produces wine. Just for our consumption… And this year production is relly too few. It tastes like honey, it’s good. Pity it will finish soon.
So cheese tortellini with “morello del lago” from Umbria as wine
Why am I doing this? Why start a blog? Well, writer Primo Levi once said “There are two kind of men: those who makes things just for their own sake and those who make things just to tell to the others. I belong to the second kind.”. So do I.
Who am I? Just some Italian guy now living and working in Switzerland. I travel a lot, thanks to my job as Feed, Food&Beverage Segment Manager for my Company. And I cook, as a hobby… I kind like also eating. Of course I also like to taste wine. So I am lucky: my job, my hobbies, everything match…
Then, I like to tell the others what I am doing, especially about food: that’s the reason for the blog.
I am going to publish comments, thoughts, quotes, anything… and of course I appreciate any kind of comment (more or less;)).
